What startup and SaaS engineering involves
Startup and SaaS work is about sequencing: proving that a market problem is real, shipping something people pay for before money runs out, and then rebuilding the parts that rapid early decisions deliberately left crude. Neovantra provides product engineering, architecture and the senior judgement that keeps velocity from becoming debt at exactly the wrong moment.
Problems we are usually asked to solve
A first version built quickly enough that every new feature slows down; a technical co-founder bottleneck nobody else can unpick; enterprise deals stalling on security questionnaires and single-tenant requirements; billing logic held together in spreadsheets; or a post-Series A backlog that cannot be parallelised because the architecture never anticipated more than one team.
MVPs that are allowed to grow
An MVP from us is small but not disposable: clear domain boundaries where they are genuinely needed, migrations instead of manual schema edits, tests around money and entitlement logic, and a deployment pipeline that will still be useful at ten times the traffic. We deliberately avoid infrastructure complexity a five-person team cannot operate, while keeping the migration path to it open.
Scale-up engineering
Scale-up work targets the real bottlenecks: database access patterns and indexing, background job processing, caching where measurement shows need, multi-tenancy isolation, and splitting deployment units only when release coordination costs justify it. Tenancy model, billing integration and permission systems are designed carefully early, because retrofitting them later is where funding gets consumed.
Security readiness for enterprise sales
We prepare for the questions that stall deals: single sign-on integration, role-based access with least privilege, audit logging, encryption and key handling, dependency and vulnerability policy, backup and recovery, sub-processor documentation and the evidence pack behind a SOC 2-aligned posture. Getting this right removes friction from procurement long before an auditor is engaged.
Working as an extension of the founding team
Engagements run with shared tooling, weekly product decisions, and a written roadmap everyone reads. We prefer continuous product conversation to ticket ping-pong, and we document the decisions we made so a future hire can understand why the system looks like this. Pricing supports early-stage reality: a compact discovery, then a dedicated squad sized to the stage rather than to a contract template.

Compliance we build towards
We engineer controls for the regimes below and prepare evidence for your auditors. We do not claim certification ourselves — attestations come from accredited bodies engaged by you.
Frequently asked questions
How fast can an MVP be launched?
A focused first release typically takes eight to fourteen weeks from discovery. We cut scope by user journeys rather than by quality, so what ships proves the value proposition without creating a rewrite requirement.
Can you work with our existing codebase?
Yes. We start with a short architecture and delivery review, agree the highest-leverage changes, then deliver alongside your team — or take ownership of a defined area while your engineers focus on another.
How do you work with a small budget?
Discovery first to spend the build budget on the right thing, then a smallest-credible-release plan with fixed acceptance criteria. If the honest answer is that the budget cannot yet support the idea, we will say that before you commit it.
Do you sign NDAs and assign IP?
Yes to both as standard. IP in what we build transfers to your company, repositories sit in your organisation, and NDAs are signed before detailed discovery.
